MEET DONNA BOGATIN

Donna Bogatin is Editor in Chief of Startup Chatter and Founder & CEO of STARTUPALPHA.COM

Ms. Bogatin brings her 20+ year track record of investment banking, Internet entrepreneurship, Information Systems Adjunct Professorship and venture journalism to STARTUPALPHA.COM, at the service of technology entrepreneurs and all players in the startup economy.

In 1997, Donna Bogatin created the first “Internet For entrepreneurs” workshop in New York City, on behalf of the Small Business Administration’s SCORE coaching program for startups.

Ms. Bogatin instructed Fortune 500 MBA candidates on how best to use the Web for competitive advantage as Adjunct Professor of Information Systems for her alma matter, the New York University Stern Graduate School of Business Administration.

As an international investment banker and Director of Mergers & Acquisitions for Societe Generale Securities corporation, Donna Bogatin interacted in the field with hundreds of startup entrepreneurs, in the U.S. and abroad and evaluated thousands of strategic direct investment opportunities while sourcing and closing venture deals.

Ms. Bogatin is an entrepreneur for her own account as well and was featured on the NY1 cable news station’s tech report for her work with the local venture she founded, UrbanSavings.com, one of the first interactive directional media properties designed to drive online consumers to local merchant businesses.

For the past two years, Donna Bogatin has been probing the business heart of the Internet as a professional blogger and venture journalist, initially under the ZDNet Digital Markets banner and then for her own account. When she launched her own blogging brand, Insider Chatter, Craig Newmark, craigslist founder, remarked:

Donna Bogatin, who as of yesterday was the leading blogger at zdnet, has started her own effort now. She’s started with a much too kind interview of me; I suspect I was a little too relaxed.

Donna Bogatin’s insightful business model analysis and in-depth real world perspective are signatures of her widely appreciated industry commentary. Over the past two years, Ms. Bogatin has attended and reported on hundreds of technology and media conferences and met with and interviewed hundreds of technology and digital media CEOs and venture capitalists: She now blogs here, at STARTUP CHATTER.

Ms. Bogatin also is sought after for technology conference appearances. Recently, she shared the stage with Don Dodge, Microsoft, and Eric Auchard, Reuters, for the closing media panel of the Research Triangle Council For Entrepreneurial Development Tech 2007 Conference, “Technology Trends of Today and Tomorrow.” Donna also joined The Kelsey Group analysts on stage for their signature “Big Thinkers” panel during the 2007 Interactive Local Media Conference in Los Angeles.

Now, via STARTUPALPHA.COM ENTREPRENEURS IN RESIDENCE program, Donna is available for one-on-one strategy and operations consultations for all phases of the startup life cycle.

Donna holds an M.B.A., a M.A. and a B.A., all from New York University and is fluent in the French language.
